King Penguins @ Edinburgh Zoo
Aug. 9th, 2006 12:41 amTurned out that I did not take many pictures of them.

The King Penguins excite me the most! I know they are big around 90cm in height... but I'd never realize they are that BIG! I wonder how big will Emperor Penguin be!!

See the four king penguins... like the others, they just stand there... under the sprinklers.

More penguins under the sprinklers

I was unable to see the picture from my digicam's display, I found out about the fence after I transferred the picture into my computer. What a pitty. Sorry.

The Lovebirds. ^_^ (I forgot their names)
Edinburgh zoo has a special daily Penguin Parade at 2pm. The penguins can walk out of their enclosures and parade around the area. But at that time, as you know, it was too hot, and the penguins did not want to have a stroll in the park. After a 15 minutes of given time, the keeper closed the enclosure. It was a pitty, two gentoos were starting to walk towards the way out, but the keeper already closed the door. (T_T)
Next time, if anyone of you visit edinburgh zoo, try to watch the penguin parade.
Well, other than the penguin pictures from the zoo's guide book, that's about it, I guess. No more edinburgh zoo's penguin pics.
The only zoo in scotland that has penguins is Edinburgh Zoo. I had a fabulous time taking the pictures. And also had a great time posting the pictures!

on 2006-08-09 12:56 am (UTC)Edinburgh is on our list of zoos must go to if we ever get over to Europe, mostly because of the penguin parade. And isn't Edinburgh the zoo with the penguin who has a rank in the Norwegian army or something?

on 2006-08-09 01:03 am (UTC)But this year, there was no perfomance from the Royal Norwegian guards. I went to the tattoo on the same day I visited the zoo. ^_^
